Glemham Underwriting Limited was established in January 2006 to underwrite wholesale Professional Indemnity and Commercial classes of Insurance for UK domiciled businesses, through a panel of national supporting brokers.

The aim of the company is to combine the service-driven ethos of the UK composite insurers with the strong technical ability and entrepreneurial attitude of a Lloyd’s syndicate and this is reflected in the management and underwriting team. The team brings together highly experienced individuals from Lloyd’s syndicates, UK composite insurers and Lloyd’s wholesale brokers and uses this wealth of experience to underwrite a broad range of products on behalf of a number of capacity providers; both from the Lloyd's and composite markets.

The company’s underwriting philosophy is to consider the individual risk in terms of management, expertise and claims history, rather than focus simply on the profession or trade. This seems obvious however far too often the quality of a risk is overshadowed by the reputation of their market sector. By working closely with brokers who truly understand their client the company can develop long terms relationships with both client and broker. The company operates from offices in the City of London, Suffolk and Kent, the former being the underwriting centre for Professional Indemnity business with all Commercial Combined and Property business being underwritten from Suffolk.
