The underwriting & management team are drawn from the UK composite and Lloyd's insurance markets and have extensive experience in all fields of the insurance industry:
Richard Browne ACII - Chairman
Richard Browne started his career with Commercial Union Assurance in 1968. Following the merger with General Accident he rose to the head of Accident & Marine in 2000 and subsequently head of liability underwriting with Norwich Union. Since 2003 Richard has provided consultancy services to a number of insurance companies and various Underwriters at Lloyd's and in 2006 was appointed Chairman of Glemham Underwriting Limited.
In addition to the above Richard is a CII examiner, setting and marking examination papers.
John Cross BSc (Hons) ACII - Chief Executive
John Cross entered the insurance industry as a graduate trainee with Commercial Union Assurance in 1986, rising to Senior Underwriter of the Industrial Trading Unit writing PI, D&O, Commercial Motor and Group PA classes. In 1999 John joined Syndicate 1236 writing PI and general liability insurance, remaining with them following their takeover by QBE and underwrote for Syndicates 2345, 79 and 2000 until leaving to start Glemham Underwriting in 2006.
Tim Lockwood ACII - Director of Underwriting
Tim Lockwood's career began with the Commercial Union Assurance in 1985 where he remained until 2005. During his tenure he held various Underwriting positions within the Ipswich, Norwich and Cambridge offices, establishing a strong market position and achieving significant profitable growth. Tim left Norwich Union in 2006 to become Underwriting Director of Glemham Underwriting Limited.
Dennis Chapman - Senior Underwriter
Dennis joined Commercial Union in 1969 and held various underwriting positions before being appointed Senior Property Underwriter at the company's Ipswich branch in 1994. Dennis was made redundant following the merger with General Accident and spent 7 years working in IT before returning to insurance with Glemham in 2007.
Robert Giblin ACII - Commercial Underwriter
Robert began his insurance career with Phoenix in 1975, merging with Sun Alliance in 1985 and Royal in 1997, to form RSA. He held a number of underwriting positions during this time and his expertise is across the commercial spectrum, in particular Liability insurance.
